Witam, dzisiaj zestawienie wszystkich małych setów z pierwszej serii piratów. Za "małe" uznaję zestawy wychodzące w pudełkach o 9.5x7x4.7 cm i 7x7x4.7 cm oraz w polybagach.
6235 Buried Treasure
Pochodzący z 1989 r. zestaw zawiera 17 elementów, jedną minifugurkę pirata i małpę. Oprócz tego mamy tu fragment "plaży" na płytce 4x6 studów, małą roślinkę, piracką flagę i skrzynię zawierającą aż osiem monet, czyli podwójny zestaw, gdyż standardowo do zestawów dodawano ich cztery sztuki.
1481 Desert Island
Zestaw został wydany w 1991 r. w ramach Bonus Packa (1476), tylko na rynek amerykański, i nie był sprzedawany oddzielnie. Mamy ty 17 elementów składających się na małą plażę ze skałą i roślinnością, figurkę pirata, rekina i papugę. Nad wyspą powiewa flaga, lecz o dziwo nie piracka, a biała, całości dopełnia garnek wypełniony monetami.
6234 Renegades Raft
Wydany również w 1991 r. i składający się z 35 elementów. Renegades Raft to w mojej ocenia jeden z lepiej zaprojektowanych zestawów w tym zestawieniu. Mamy tutaj dobrze wykonaną tratwę ze sterem i mocowaniami na wiosło i broń, a także piracką flagą. Oprócz tego mamy tu pirata i rekina.
1696 (1494) Pirate Lookout.
To bardzo prosty zestaw z 1992 r., składający się z 13 elementów, podobny do 1481 Desert island, z tym, że nie ma tu zwierząt, a zamiast białej flagi jest piracka. Jest tu też figurka pirata i beczka. Zestaw był dostępny na całym świecie w wersji pudełkowej, a dodatkowo w Ameryce Płn. pod nr 1494 wydano wersję w polybagu.
1492 Battle Cove
To zdecydowanie najciekawszy zestaw na liście. Co prawda ma składa się tylko z 23 elementów, ale mamy tu dosyć rzadki panel ścienny i armatę w wersji amerykańskiej, tj. niestrzelającej i ozdobionej charakterystycznym grawerunkiem. Oprócz tego jest rekin i pirat, a całość tworzy solidne i ładnie wyglądające stanowisko ogniowe. Zestaw wydany w 1992 r., w polybagu i tylko na rynek amerykański.
1970 Pirate's Gun Cart
Wydany w 1993 r., w ramach Bonus Packa (1967), tylko na rynek amerykański. Składający się z 23 elementów zestaw przedstawia wózek na którym umieszczono trzy muszkiety, mające zapewne salwą rekompensować niską szybkostrzelność tej broni. Wózek obsługuje dwóch piratów. Jest to jedyny "pojazd" na dużych kołach w klasycznych zestawach Pirates, oprócz tego mamy tylko małe kółka w armatach okrętowych.
6237 Pirates' Plunder
Kolejny prosty zestaw z 1993 roku, zawierający 13 elementów. Niewielka plaża w postaci płytki 4x6 studów, roślinka, papug i skrzynia ze skarbem. Największą zaletą są tutaj dwie minifigurki: pirata i oficera gwardii imperialnej. Jest to jedyny z pośród małych zestawów, w którym znajdziemy figurki z dwóch przeciwstawnych obozów, co niewątpliwie wpływało na "bawialność" tego zestawu i pozwalało na odgrywanie scenek.
1733 (1713) Shipwrecked Pirate
Przechodzimy do roku 1994 i mamy drugi zestaw z tratwą w zestawieniu, w porównaniu do 6235 konstrukcja jest jednak nieco prostsza. Nie ma steru i miejsca na mocowanie broni, a całość liczy 19 elementów. Trochę niefortunnym rozwiązaniem jest zamocowanie dwóch zaokrąglonych płytek pod spodem tratwy (element nr. 2654 tzw. Boat Stud), które w założeniu miały zapewne zmniejszać tarcie i ułatwiać "pływanie" po dywanie, ale skutkiem ubocznym tego jest to niestabilna pozycja i to, że tratwa postawiona na półce jest przekrzywiona. Zestaw wydano także w wersji polybag (pod nr 1713), która była dostępna na wszystkich rynkach.
1871 Pirates Cannon i 1872 Imperial Guard Camp
Oba zestawy, wraz z nieco większym 1873 Pirate Treasure, wchodziły w skład wydanego w 1994 r. "Barnacle Bay Value Pack" (nr. katalogowy 1723). Ten promocyjny zestaw dostępny był tylko w USA, a o ile same zestawy można czasem trafić na platformach sprzedażowych w Polsce, to pudełka są bardzo trudno dostępne. Co do samych zestawów, to obóz Gwardii Imperialnej jest całkiem nieźle wykonany, a ognisko nad którym żołnierze pieką mięso tworzy miły klimat. Jedynym drobnym zgrzytem są zaczepy na broń wystające ze skały. Drugi zestaw jest już zdecydowanie gorszy, ot kawałek skały i działo (w wersji amerykańskiej - niestrzelającej), którym w dodatku ma ograniczony zakres obrotu, bo blokuje go wspomniana skała. No i sama idea działa obracającego się na piasku jest jest trochę naciągana.
1747 (1802) Treasure Suprise
Przechodzimy do 1996 roku, a więc fali hiszpańskich piratów. Treasure Suprise to prosty zestaw, składający z 18 elementów i minifigurki pirata. Przedstawia schowek na skarby zamykany klapą i zamakowany palmowym liściem. Zestaw na rynku amerykańskim wyszedł też w wersji polybag oznaczonej nr 1802.
6232 Skeleton Crew
Drugi, nieco większy, choć składający się tylko z 17 elementów zestaw z 1996 roku. Pirat odnalazł małą skałę, w której w jaskini, czy może bardziej wnęce, spoczywa szkielet w hełmie hiszpańskiej Armady na głowie. Zestaw uzupełnia beczka wypełniona złotymi monetami.

Hello, today I present a compilation of all the small sets from the first series of pirates. By "small," I consider sets that come in boxes measuring 9.5x7x4.7 cm and 7x7x4.7 cm, as well as those in polybags.
6235 Buried Treasure
The set from 1989 consists of 17 elements, including one pirate minifigure and a monkey. In addition, it features a section of a "beach" on a 4x6 stud plate, a small plant, a pirate flag, and a chest containing eight coins - double the usual amount, as sets typically came with four coins each.
1481 Desert Island
The set was released in 1991 as part of the Bonus Pack (1476), exclusively for the American market, and was not sold separately. It includes 17 elements forming a small beach with rocks and plant, a pirate minifigure, a shark, and a parrot. Above the island flies a flag, surprisingly not a pirate but a white one, and the ensemble is completed by a pot full of coins.
6234 Renegades Raft
Also released in 1991 and consisting of 35 elements, the Renegades Raft
is, in my opinion, one of the better-designed sets in this compilation. We have here a well-crafted raft with a rudder and attachments for oars
and weapons, as well as a pirate flag. In addition, the set includes a
pirate minifigure and a shark.
1696 (1494) Pirate Lookout.
This is a very simple set from 1992, consisting of 13 elements. It is
similar to the 1481 Desert Island, but without animals, and instead of a
white flag, there is a pirate flag. The set includes a pirate
minifigure and a barrel. It was available worldwide in a boxed version
and, additionally, in North America, it was released as polybag number
1494.
1492 Battle Cove
This is definitely the most interesting set on the list. Although it
consists of only 23 elements, it includes a rather rare wall panel and
an American version of a cannon—non-firing and adorned with distinctive
engraving. In addition, there's a shark and a pirate, creating a solid
and aesthetically pleasing firing position. The set was released in
1992, in a polybag, and exclusively for the American market.
1970 Pirate's Gun Cart
Released in 1993 as part of the Bonus Pack (1967), exclusively for the American market, this 23-element set depicts a cart carrying three muskets, likely compensating for the low rate of fire of this weapon with a salvo. The cart is operated by two pirates. It is the only "vehicle" with large wheels in the classic Pirates sets; besides this, there are only small wheels in ship cannons.
6237 Pirates' Plunder
Another simple set from 1993, containing 13 elements. It features a
small beach in the form of a 4x6 stud plate, a plant, parrots, and a
treasure chest. The main advantage here is the inclusion of two
minifigures: a pirate and an Imperial Guard officer. This is the only
one among the small sets where you find figures from two opposing
factions, undoubtedly enhancing the playability of the set and allowing
for the enactment of various scenes.
1733 (1713) Shipwrecked Pirate
Moving on to the year 1994, we have the second raft set in the lineup.
In comparison to 6235, this design is somewhat simpler. It lacks a
rudder and a place for weapon attachments, totaling 19 elements. A
somewhat inconvenient solution is the attachment of two rounded tiles
underneath the raft (element no. 2654, known as Boat Stud), which
presumably were intended to reduce friction and facilitate "floating" on
carpets. However, the side effect is an unstable position, and when
placed on a shelf, the raft tends to be tilted. The set was also
released in a polybag version (numbered 1713), available on all markets.
1871 Pirates Cannon and 1872 Imperial Guard Camp
Both sets, along with the somewhat larger 1873 Pirate Treasure, were
part of the "Barnacle Bay Value Pack" released in 1994 (catalog number
1723). This promotional set was only available in the USA, and while the
individual sets can sometimes be found on sales platforms in Poland,
the boxes are very hard to come by. Regarding the sets themselves, the
Imperial Guard Camp is quite well executed, and the campfire where
soldiers are roasting meat creates a pleasant atmosphere. The only minor
issue is the weapon clips protruding from the rock. The second set is
decidedly less impressive, featuring a piece of rock and a cannon (in
the American version - non-shooting), which also has a limited range of
rotation due to the mentioned rock blocking its movement. The idea of a
cannon rotating on sand is a bit far-fetched.
1747 (1802) Treasure Suprise
Moving on to 1996, the era of Spanish pirates. Treasure Surprise is a
simple set, consisting of 18 elements and a pirate minifigure. It
depicts a treasure hideout closed with a flap and secured with a palm
leaf. In the American market, the set was also released in a polybag
version labeled number 1802.
6232 Skeleton Crew
The second, somewhat larger set from 1996, although consisting of only
17 elements. The pirate has discovered a small rock, in which a cave or
recess holds a skeleton with a helmet from the Spanish Armada on its
head. The set is complemented by a barrel filled with gold coins.
